How to get out of your head and stop letting your thoughts control you

It is very hard to do things without passion. But passion comes from the heart. Nowadays everyone is just living in their head.

Everything in life happens in the now. We are the only creatures constrained by time.

Time is a construct created in our heads. We need it to exist.

Without a past we would have no sense of self.

But when we have awareness of the past and future we tend to stop living in the present.

We get cut off from the life force.

Time

Time only exists in the mind. When you are not living in the present you are stuck in your head.

Thinking about the past causes depression because you think of what could have been.

Thinking about the future causes anxiety because you think of what could happen.

To escape your mind and escape your thoughts you need to become present.

Life is so beautiful and enjoyable when you live in the now.

You have access to everything when living in the present moment.

How To Become Present

Your breath is your life force. It is your connection to the physical world. You need breath to live.

To become present you need to be aware of your breathing.

When you focus on your breath you are no longer trapped in your mind.

Close your eyes. Take 5 deep breaths and just focus on the breath going in and out. Feel your stomach moving up and down.

This is the present moment.

The Ego

Your ego is your sense of self. It is your individual character.

You are a spiritual being having a human experience.

When you enter the physical body your ego tends to take over.

Your ego just wants to survive. Your ego only cares about being comfortable and achieving short term pleasure.

Your ego is the thing that is constrained by time.

The goal in life is to become aware of your ego, conquer it, and find your true essence within.

To control your life you need to control your mind.

Your ego is controlled by fear and pleasure.

The ego does not like change.

Short Term Pleasures

Short term pleasures are things you get instant reward from. But these things are not good for you in the long run.

Examples are masturbation, eating junk food, scrolling on social media, bingeing Netflix, drinking alcohol, etc.

Willpower

Humans are unique and superior because we are aware. With awareness brings free will.

Free will means we can choose to do what we want. We are the masters of our fate.

But with our ego wanting to control us; our ego always wants the easiest, most comfortable option.

Your ego wants the short term pleasures that are bad for you.


To take back control of your life you need to increase your willpower.

To do this you need to stop giving in to short term pleasures.

Eat healthier, stop masturbating, take cold showers, exercise more, meditate, spend less time on social media, spend more time outdoors, drink more water, etc.

When you choose what is right for you and not what is most comfortable you increase your willpower.

The stronger your willpower the more you are in control of your life.

The more in control you are the more successful you can become.

The Secret To Life

When you control your thoughts they no longer control you.

This is the secret to a successful and happy life.

So meditate more and become present. The present moment is all that exists.

Be Here Now.

    • I agree. We are too busy searching for more, but once we get it we are never satisfied.
